Welcome to Garbage Weekend. It’s the internet garbage you know and love, but in a format that’s easier to read while you wait to find out if TikTok gets banned.

This week, Meta officially made it OK to hurl abuse and slurs at any marginalized group you want. The best spin they have is “all the abuse will be inspiring somehow.” At least queer employees might get some sick leave out of it! The list of things Meta has stopped caring about also includes copyright law and political neutrality. Next to go might be one of its biggest rivals, since as we write this, the US Supreme Court is hearing TikTok’s final argument to avoid a US ban. Without TikTok, Americans’ new favorite app will probably be wildfire-tracking platform Watch Duty.
