This week, the big highlight from the first presidential debate between Trump and Harris was the moderator actually fact-checking Trump on a claim about immigrants eating cats. This was the final straw for noted cat owner Taylor Swift, who endorsed Harris later that night. Swift also cited AI deepfakes of her endorsing Trump as a reason for her public endorsement. Sounds like the perfect time to invest six billion dollars into OpenAI! Regardless, the tech industry is trying to force a bit of optimism about the future, and you can tell from Apple’s latest iPhone being “boring in a good way” (???), not to mention all the layoffs at Microsoft. Guess they gotta free up more money for (checks notes) AI-powered oil drilling?
